Today we had a visit from Alison and Richard from Acorn Farm. They showed us lots of animals and we were able to touch them and feed them. We had an amazing day.

Sports Stay and Play with Jumping Jacks

On Friday we were excited to have our parents and carers come in to join in with a sports session with Lucie from Jumping Jacks ABC. We sang songs, marched, played with the parachute and did an egg and spoon race. It was lots of fun!

In the afternoon it rained on us but we still enjoyed our sports indoors.

Thank you to Lucie for our medals and certificates!

Maths Party Day

On Friday we were excited to join in with the rest of the school and invite parents and carers in to the Liverpool Maths Party.

We made fairy bread cut into different shapes, printed with shaped blocks and made shape pictures. We counted all sorts of things!

Thank you to parents and carers for sharing the day with us.

Seashell Maths

In reception we have been practicing counting in twos, and some of us have been using sea shells to count and write number sentences. Look at our great work.

Bog Babies

This week we are reading a wonderful book called "The Bog Baby" by Jeanne Willis illustrated by Gwen Millward.

Today we made some Bog Babies of our own to help us think about what the Bog Baby might look like. Then we took the Bog Baby out to play and looked after it.

We tweeted our Bog Babies to the illustrator Gwen Millward and were excited when she replied.

Bear Hunt

Last week we read Michael Rosen's Bear Hunt story together. We loved watching Michael perform the story to us.

We have enjoyed making story maps together, using different collage materials to represent the grass, snow, river etc. It has helped us to talk about and sequence the story, and reception have labelled their maps.

We have also explored our story tray to help us retell the story...

Some of the Bears got frozen in a snowstorm!

We built bear houses...

Threaded bears...
A favourite activity was making sock bears together at our stay and play. We took our bears out on their very own bear hunts.

Have a great half term week!
